123 Front porch.

About a month ago, there was nothing in front of the house. Except for a small concrete stoep and dying grass. The farmer came up with a brilliant idea and this is how it unfolded:

Nothing but dogs.

First day.

Ons vorder.
Rubble and dust. And some more dust.

And some bricks.

Bricks are done. Poles added.

Vines to be planted. Are we almost done yet? Note rusted bird next to dog kennel.

These birds were almost thrown on the rubbish heap. (My creation)

And some mosaic to cover the part between the porch and the tiles.
This was an old, rusted soap pot. Added some paint, lavender and flowers.

Got the lamps I told you about.

Fabulous sleeper find on Gumtree.
And voila!
Now the vines just need to grow and rank like crazy!

Have a good week all. xxx

Tra-la Hunter!

Oh my gosh! Finally got myself a pair after HEAVY consideration and thanks to Standard Bank for allowing me to buy on credit. Just love it!

And even though the farmer tried to burst my bubble with the following: "Pity no one in this town will even know what Hunter Boots are...", I do not give a damn. Just because I live in the middle of nowhere DOES NOT mean I can't go with the flow and be fashionable once in a while. Right?

Project braai

One of the things I love about the farmer, is that he can never just sit and relax. There is always a "project" under hand. The latest project is called "Project Indoor Braai". And this one is my fault. While sitting at the hairdresser last week, I saw the below picture, and in turn showed it to the farmer...

And R10 if you can guess what's happening at the moment!

Project Veranda is finished, and I am just waiting for the last "finishing touches", then I'll show you what he did in front of the house.

Have a good weekend!

Today...

... I miss my parents. Wish I could climb in the car and pop in for coffee. Happy 37th anniversary. Love you to bits.
... I have a new "patient". Katryn is on heat again and last night Vegter almost but Skollie to Sweden and back. Poor guy.
... my bike is finally in my name. I almost spent half the day between the test station and the traffic department, but worth it. That baby is mine.
... is perfect stay in bed weather. These mid-week holidays just make me lazy.
... the Blackberry is SO going to be replaced at the end of my contract.

Hope you have a good weekend!

P.S. Meet Daisy. One of Bella's pups the farmer has decided to keep:

Everything Hair!

The 40's are creeping up. Slowly, but surely. Can't believe I will be 36 on Sunday...

And the older I get, the more I am focused on every wrinkle, gray hair and sagging eye lid. (Sagging bottom as well...) And the more I realise that woman need to look after themselves from an early age. Luckily I had a mother who insisted that I use a skincare range at school already. And that I have my dry ends cut every 3 months.

That brings me to my hair care regime. I found a brand that works for my hair, but as all of you know, this town sometimes get the better of me. The hairdressers here insist that *** Apple flavour is perfect for your hair and that salon products are a moneymaking scheme. They do not even stock shampoo's. THE HORROR!! A few weeks ago I stumbled upon an ONLINE shop for hair products. I am an online shopping addict and was hooked. The staff are super knowledgeable and I must mention Terry, who gave me the best ever hair advise ever. And that over the phone. After just a few questions, she knew what to advise. I ordered. It arrived. AND IT WORKS.

Lights and Mosaic

On Saturday I got some famous Pisces art inspiration. The farmer is building a "veranda" in front of the house and there was an ugly gap between the paving and the tiling. Decided to try mosaic tiling... Okay, the big tiles are still cracked, but at least the gap is filled up! The farmer even decided to mosaic my birds.

The farmer wanted to throw the birds away. out came the paint brush...
And after a day of solid moaning, the farmer gave in and ordered 3 of these: (What do you think?) Pics of the "veranda" to follow shortly.

Sorry about the lack of posts, but it will get better from now on.
