Recap.

Yes, I have been AWOL. The last two months have been a very difficult period, but it is slowly getting better.

To recap in a fish tin:

18 July 2012 - My mother gets admitted to hospital. Doctor's find a blood clot in her lung. She is in the hospital for 9 days. Update: After many blood tests, the specialist now believe that my mother has Hughes Syndrome. This is causing her blood to clot. She will have to be on an anti-coagulant for the rest of her life. We are still very positive that all will be fine and we are going to pray this syndrome away!!

3 August 2012 - After all this, I decided to go for a check-up at my GP. Blood pressure, Cholesterol, sugar levels and what knows else were tested. The doctor phones a few days later. All normal except for my Thyroid test. I am under. But that is still okay, as I only have half of it in any case. The SHOCK came a week after the tests. Pathway account is R 1600!!

5 August 2012 - The farmer and I start with Champix on our quest to quit smoking. We decide that 14 August 2012 will be our last day. Last day it is. For the farmer. I continue to smoke 1 a day until the 24th of August. Then the farmer finds out. In this period and until 27/28 August, the farmer and I nearly kill each other. There are days of silence and dagger looks. I am pleased though that we got through that and are still smoke free.

25 August 2012 - The farmer is having a interior decoration stint and changes the whole lounge area. My books are carelessly packed on a table. After it took me hours to alphabetically re-arrange three weeks prior. BUT, all is done and the lounge looks fab!

27 August 2012 - Katryn starts her heat cycle. Katryn is still in heat. The males are wild dogs.

1 September 2012 - Andries, our farm hand, decides it's WAY nicer to be drinking than to be at work. Needless to say, I have to help. What a weekend. I was pissed on by cows. Pooh was splattered on my face. My arm is still killing me. The farmer and I milked 3000L of milk between the two of us. Andries is still AWOL. Luckily our other workers are back from their weekend off.

And that, is about it. Hopefully there will be more frequent posts in the days ahead!
