A bit of DIY - Dog bowls transformed into pots.

So, the flies are eating us alive. And after some advise from my mother, this project started:

"LAVENDER keeps flies away". 

(In this time, I bought the dogs new water bowls. I use these Heart buy two for R199 )

You will need:
- Any old pot (Remember to drill holes in the bottom)
- Spray paint - Color of your choice (I used bronze)
- Bath / shower Silicone 
- Some mosaic tiles - Color of your choice
- Bag op potting soil
- Plant of your choice - I got lavender - Obviously

Hello 2014.

So, the year began with a bang!

First week of work was a shocker, but into things again. Had a lovely holiday!

I had my parents and my nephew for Christmas:

Had my stunning couzzie pop in to say hi:

Lost 10kg's already on the Atkins diet and still going strong.

Took a drunk selfie with a boerboel:

Did I mention the 10 kg?

And then we've had HEAT, more heat and a snake.Yes, a huge Cape Cobra. Luckily Merna saw the thing when he entered the dog room. About 1.6 m and the farmer had his hands full. Snake was upright and ready to strike the whole time. And fast is an understatement. I deleted the close-up pic of the poor snake, because we had to decapitate him. But this is what he/she looked like after the farmer threw him over the fence. He got tangled in a tree:

Today...

... I feel like a 50 year old.

Get it? Yeah, it's been a long year, but annual leave is starting on the 13th and will last for FOUR weeks.

And... My parents will be spending Christmas on the farm!

Pathetic, I know!

It's been more than a month. Yes, I know. It's been busy.

I've lost a friend and a neighbor last month, been on leave, had a puppy and, and, and. It just never rains, it pours.

So on Sunday, we did another road trip, just to rewind a bit. Barrydale, on the R62, is one of our favourite places. Lovely little art and book shops and amazing restaurants!

Just a short  drive from us.

... MY MA is 'n ystervrou.

Dit het ek net weer hierdie naweek gesien. (Ja, ek was gelukkig genoeg om BEIDE my ouers vir die naweek te kon entertain.)

Sy was laasweek vrot van die koors en glad nie lekker, maar het aangedring sy is fine. Ek was seker ek sou hulle nie sien nie, maar op die ou einde het die tweetjies hier aangekom.

My ma se wange het gelyk soos Ouma Dora s'n as sy 'n brandy saam met antie Henn gedrink het. (Van die koors en nie van drank nie hoor!) En tussen die koue lappies, die warm gloede en die toe bors, worry sy steeds oor ander mense en dat almal net okay en gelukkig moet wees.

Ek haal my hoed af ma.
